Artist's Statement

My artistic practice is structured around power relations, mechanisms of oppression, boundaries, healing, adjustment - distortion. Occasionally referencing art history, my work explores the relationship between lacking and mutation, flow and resistance, component and whole, the one that complement and the other that distrup. Each artwork's material and form takes its final shape according to the subject matter of the project, where my inspiration comes from the traces of my memory, my mental state and from the happenings that occur around me.
My work is driven by the attempt of curing myself and my environment and includes different techniques such as oil painting, photograph, video, performance, installation and print. I perform a meditative approach with an urge for repair and create an independent area. Sometimes, my actions intend to assemble the fragments and some other time they search for new meanings over the irregularity seen on a systematic sequence. Every project's research process brings along with it a new starting point for the next body of work.
